Sean Breslin started playing guitar in elementary school & hasn’t put it down since. He honed his performance skills in a touring punk band, and expanded his repertoire playing everywhere from coffee houses in Georgia, to campfires in Montana, to bars down the Jersey Shore.
Sean is always looking to learn new songs, and you can suggest your favorite by emailing seanbreslingigs@gmail.com. When he’s not performing, Sean works at Philabundance to fight hunger in the Delaware Valley.
Background & Experience
Sean Breslin first began playing guitar when his father taught him to pluck out simple melodies when he was just six years old. He grew up in a musical family, learning tunes from aunts and uncles who found joy in playing their favorite classic rock and country songs at family gatherings and in local bars.
As he grew older, Sean’s tastes and playing experience grew. He formed one band, then another, and reveled in the fun of sharing new songs with people. He joined a punk band and and earned his bones playing multiple shows per day, hauling gear in and out of a beat-up Ford Econoline van and making sure the band got to the next gig on time. From there Sean crisscrossed the country throughout the early 2000s, playing solo around campfires or joining folk combos. He picked up mandolin and harmonica along the way, and learned to meet the crowd’s mood. Sean knows when to fill in the background of a good conversation, and he can keep people dancing late into the night.
As a solo performer, Sean has built a deep repertoire of crowd pleasers. From acoustic classics to mellow version of pop favorites, Sean’s performances have always been grounded in music’s ability to bring people together.
